Connection
The Workplace
Connection is a volunteer business outreach program designed by
Eastern Panhandle Clean Air Connection to encourage participation
in the Air Quality Action Days network and promote alternate commute
options within organizations in the Eastern Panhandle business
community. By becoming a member of The Workplace Connection, you
will join a growing network of organizations in our area who have
positioned themselves as leaders in employee benefits and environmental
programs.
Everyone
can contribute to cleaning the air in the Eastern Panhandle.

How to Join:
Joining
The Workplace Connection is easy and it is free.
First have
senior management adopt the program, ensuring they fully understand
and support its purpose and goals. Your Eastern Panhandle Clean
Air Connection Program Coordinator is happy to help you present
the program to your organization's management team.
Secondly,
designate an employee who has regular contact with your staff
to act as the Air Quality Action Days coordinator for your organization.
An administrative assistant, human resources manager, or transportation
coordinator are all excellent candidates to take on this role.
Finally,
have your coordinator share news and information with your staff
about Air Quality Action Days. When an Air Quality Action Day
is forecast, coordinators are notified via fax or e-mail by 4:00
p.m. the previous day. They are asked to share these alerts with
their co-workers along with suggestions for individual voluntary
actions everyone can take to reduce ground-level ozone and their
exposure to it. On average, coordinators devote only 20-45 minutes
per Air Quality Action Day to the program, making it easy to integrate
into a daily work agenda.
